COVID-19 Safety and Sanitary Procedures 2020-08-17T14:16:20+00:00

To Our Salon and Spa Family

Salon Evangelos and Alison Andrews Day Spa is open again and accepting appointments for salon & spa services. Due to Covid-19, we are taking extra precautions to make sure you and our staff stay healthy and safe. We are following the guidelines of the CDC to reduce the spread of the virus. As these guidelines are updated we will update ours. The following are safety precautions we are taking and those we are requiring of all clients.

Bookings: We are now taking appointments for all Hair and Nail services. Due to social distancing guidelines we’re splitting shifts to reduce the number of people in the building. Most staff members will have reduced hours and their normal schedules will be temporarily adjusted. In order to maintain social distancing and additional cleaning protocol, we may need to adjust your appointments by 10-15 mins and you will be notified by phone or email. Please check all messages from us in case we need to adjust it. To connect with you best, please verify that we have the correct number to call you and a current email that you routinely check.

Massage, Skin Care & Waxing: We are now making appointments for all massage, facials and waxing services. Our luxury facials are back, as well as hour long massages!  Illinois Guidelines continue to mandate clients must keep their masks on the entire time we perform services, *except when instructed by your esthetician. Once Illinois guidelines change we will update you.

Makeup Services: are restricted at this time and appointments for makeup applications will nor be made at this time*  We will keep you updated in the event this service option changes.

New Safety Protocols added to the Salon and Spa

Extra Sanitation: We have taken steps to sanitize every work station, service rooms and common areas.  Hand Sanitizers will be placed throughout the salon for your convenience.  Both check-in desks have plexiglass protection between you and the front desk.  Please do your check out and rebooking here. Shampoo stations now have curtain dividers. All service providers will be wearing masks.

All service providers will be washing their hands before and after each client and we are asking that you wash your hands when you arrive.

All Clients are REQUIRED by law to wear masks during your entire visit. Please wear your mask for your appointment, as we cannot service you without one. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions.  If you do not have one, we will have a limited supply and a disposable mask may be purchased for $1.00.

We kindly ask that as soon as you enter the building you wash your hands or use the hand sanitizer provided at the front desk. The CDC and the State of Illinois mandates that everyone wear a mask in a salon and spa. No beverages or foods will be served for now. For your own safety, please refrain from bringing in your own food or beverages as well.

Touchless Greetings and Goodbyes: This is not easy for us, but we will not be shaking hands or hugging at this time. Please know we have missed you want to know what’s new, but to prevent the spread of this virus it’s necessary.

To keep safe doing your services, we’d like you to relax and keep talking to a minimum as we are unable to keep a social distance while working on you.

Sanitation procedures will take place throughout the day and every evening.

Client Information and Guidelines to keep you safe

Appointments needed for all Services. Walk-ins cannot be serviced at this time.

Please come alone to your appointment. Unless you are a parent, legal guardian or a caretaker for someone who needs assistance, we ask that you bring no other guests or children. If the above comes to your appointment, they are required to follow all the same rules: masks, no food or beverages, and maintain social distancing.

If you’ve been sick lately, feel sick, have unexplained rashes, traveled out of the country or flown in the last 14 days, (fever, cough, headaches, and chills, loss of appetite or smell, or fatigue). If you’ve been in contact with someone with Covid-19 or think they may have it, or have a fever, please reschedule your appointment a minimum of 14 days.

Social Distancing must be practiced at the salon. The only time this cannot be kept is during your actual service. We ask once you’ve checked out and rescheduled, that you please leave so other guests may arrive and enjoy their visit.

Arrive 5 mins before your appointment. To reduce the amount of people in the waiting area, please call when you arrive and remain in your vehicle. We’ll call you when it’s time to come in. Every appointment will require additional time and we’ll do our best to stay on time for you.

Touchless Temperature Reading. All guests will start with a temperature reading (staff, too!) Readings must be below 100.4 per the CDC recommendations. (Code 42 Part 70/71) If it exceeds 100.4 staff members will be sent home and clients will be asked to reschedule.

Salon and Spa Limitations. Magazines and most paper items have been removed from the salon. Only Chair Massage and 30 Minute Massage are allowed at this time. During shampoo and close work to your face please limit conversation.  Let’s discuss everything you need before we start!

Additional Safety charges. There will be an increase to salon costs to provide services. We’ve increased measures to clean, sanitize, provide protective gear to staff, adjust and modified workstations with additional safety equipment.  This requires us to charge a nominal protective service charge.  With the long wait between services some services may require additional products and/or time.

Scheduling. If you had an appointment during the shutdown we will be calling you to reschedule. You may call us starting Friday May 29th, or email us with your appointment requests. We expect a high volume of calls the first few day and we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone!

Cancellations/Limiting Personal Items. We require at least a 24 hour notice of cancellation. Last minute cancellations and no shows result in lost time and income for our service providers whom are already working on reduced hours.  Please limit your personal belongings you bring to your appointment. Consider only carrying in your cell phone and form of payment. Do not bring extra guests with you.

We thank you for your kindness and support during this time and we look forward to seeing you soon!
